TOOLS 2008
THREE-HANDER CLOWN SHOW ABOUT DYI CULTURE AND GENDER ROLES
Join our ménage à trois as three clowns assemble furniture from IKEA to decorate their spacious new apartment. Tools is a serious look at the fun and foibles of Do-It-Yourself culture, where men can be men and a woman is still a woman.
Power tools, red nose and théâtre d'objets all meet in this hilarious send-up of gender stereotypes and the notoriously challenging (and endlessly frustrating) process of assembling IKEA furniture.
Concept: Ravi Jain (CAN), Adam Paolozza (CAN)
Performed, devised and staged by: Katrina Bugaj (US/DK), Ravi Jain, Adam Paolozza
Tools was created in collaboration with Toronto-based Why Not Theatre and Bad New Days (formerly Theatre Run). It premiered to a sold out house during The Toronto Festival of Clowns in 2008.
