Community
We deeply value community engagement and look for ways to create meaningful interactions with the local communities and audiences we meet, as well as the international performing arts community we are a part of worldwide.
Our community engagement takes many forms, including: bespoke workshops for professionals and non-professionals; masterclasses; mentorships; post-performance aftertalks; informal conversations in the lobby; as well as participation in conferences, seminars, research projects, residency exchanges and side projects with a variety of collaborators both in Denmark and abroad.
WORKSHOPS
Out of Balanz offers a variety of workshops covering a wide range of theatrical styles. Workshops vary in their focus and length, but are based in the physical preparation of the body, ensemble, collective creation and improvisation.
While committed to international collaborations, touring and teaching workshops when on tour, our goal is to contribute to the training, research, cultural exchange and performance offered in our home of Copenhagen, Denmark. As part of this mission, we are dedicated to offering workshops to local artists and youth and to teaching at local performing arts schools and institutions.

SIDE PROJECTS
We believe that the vitality of Out of Balanz's work is directly tied to our continued engagement with an ever evolving community of artists across varying cultures, backgrounds and disciplines, both within Out of Balanz's own projects and outside of the company in side projects. Working as directors, performers, dramaturgs and co-creators in side projects enables the co-artistic directors of Out of Balanz to make new connections, explore additional artistic interests and learn new practices that enrich the company's work.
Side projects also enable us to share our own methodologies and knowledge with new collaborators and communities in Denmark and abroad.
