LOS JUSTOS 2020
A LIVE ONLINE, GLOBAL PERFORMANCE SERIES INSPIRED BY ALBERT CAMUS’ LES JUSTES AND A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC
The virus is spreading. We are sitting at home.
Technology is taking over our voices - and our attention is the most valuable commodity.
Made in direct response to lockdown and with a backdrop of varying Covid-19 restrictions and policies, violent protests, bomb explosions, unstable internet and governments, 9 performers from Lebanon, Chile, Japan, Hong Kong, Greece, Spain, Denmark, England and The United States gather to participate in a performance they know virtually nothing about.
Taking its name from Les Justes by Albert Camus, Los Justos is an online performance series streamed simultaneously, in real time, via venues in Spain, Denmark, Chile, UK and Berlin. It is a multi-platform, improvised, interactive work presented through Zoom, Telegram, Instagram and with an audience chat room...that takes us on a journey in pursuit of justice, terror, action, attention and, ultimately, connection.
Los Justos received generous support from Statens Kunstfond Scenekunstudvalg, Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid (Spain), Parque Cultural in Valparaíso (Chile), Trinity Center in Bristol (UK) and Aeeja in Berlin/Athens (Germany/Greece).
Co-Produced by Out of Balanz, Annie Pui Ling Lok y Juan Ayala (Spain/UK), Limbik Theatre (UK), Patari Project (GR), aejaa.com (DE/GR).
