FØR VI FORSVINDER 2020

A TRAGICOMEDY ABOUT LOVE AND EXTINCTION

A tragicomedy about extinction

It's 100 seconds to midnight.

In 2020 the Doomsday Clock - a potent symbol of scientific concerns about humanity’s possible annihilation - was set the closest it's ever been to midnight. The primary reason for this calculation: the current nuclear landscape and climate change. How do we contemplate the future at such a moment? What are the choices we've inherited and how do the choices we make influence the generations to come?

Før Vi Forsvinder (Before We Disappear) is a new, tragicomic performance that, springing out of fears of extinction and the climate crisis, examines the self destructive and transformative power of humankind and takes us on a journey from despair to hope. It combines the aggressive athleticism of physical theater and new circus with fragility and humor.

Før Vi Forsvinder has received generous support from Statens Kunstfond Scenekunstudvalg and Odense Kommune, as well as residency and development support from Teaterøen and The Academy of Untamed Creativity. Før Vi Forsvinder was also selected to participate in a new initiative by The Development Platform (UP) for the Performing Arts to promote the visability of exceptional, independent performing artists in Denmark.
